You will be able to cut the mesh and turn the mat, but you cannot cut the heating wire. Make sure you select the appropriate square footage. You can combine several mats of any size to get the right total heating area coverage. Measure the walking area of the room, subtracting any area with permanent fixtures or flat-bottomed furniture. If you need help choosing your fit please contact our support team. Make sure you choose a single voltage option for each thermostat when purchasing multiple mats. 120V and 240V mats do not mix connecting one thermostat. 120V – Use this variation if you have a room under 200 sq. ft. 240V – Use this variation if you have a room over 200 sq. ft. You will need one thermostat per 150 sq. ft. with a 120-Volt system and one thermostat per 300 sq. ft. with a 240-Volt system. A 240-Volt system heats the same as 120-Volt, there is no need to use a 240-Volt on heated areas less than 150 sq. ft. Read more Why Choose ThermoTile Electric Radiant Floor Heat? Exceptional Comfort Directly warms the body, not the ceiling, so it feels warmer than forced-air or convective heat. Warms from the floor up, unlike forced air heat that leaves the legs and feet cold. Radiant floor heat is totally quiet. There are no noisy fans blowing warm air into the room. No uncomfortable drafts because there are no fans blowing air. Cleaner & Healthier Cleaner, healthier and hypoallergenic because they eliminate the need for carpets. No dirty vents or ducts that trap and circulate dirt, dust mites and allergens. Electric radiant floors are maintenance free, so there are no dirty filters to change. Saves Energy Radiant heat feels 6-8 degrees (F) warmer than forced air. You can save an estimated 3-5% for every degree the thermostat is turned down. Utilizes 100% of supplied electrical energy to create warmth directly above the floor, not under the ceiling. No energy is wasted operating fans or pumps, or forcing air through ducts. Read more

I read all the directions and watched the online videos before I started my install. The steps of the install were very easy, but I found it hard to get the mats to stay flat on the concrete. I recommend laying out your entire floor before you start to glue or tape down, as I did. I used a glue gun on the mesh, which helped quite a bit, but the cords themselves were so curved from being rolled up in the box that when I put down the self-leveling pour, some of the ends of the coil loops didn't get submerged. I added a little extra back-buttering on my ceramic tiles to ensure a level tile floor, but it was not without difficulty. If I had it to do over, I think I would use duct tape on the coils in addition to the glue gun on the matting. I had an electrician run a new line from my panel to wire the thermostat and it works great. I love the heat and think for the price this mat is a great deal.I did buy the resistance meter as recommended and checked several times during my install. I also thought about where I wanted my thermostat to be so that my heating coils ended near that area. The cord for the coils is thicker than the system itself, so I recommend chiseling a little trench in the floor to bury the cord. I was able to run it under a baseboard and into my wall from there. I only installed the one floor sensor, but it's probably a good idea to install two just in case. One last tip - be sure to get a good seal with your thinset over the entire tile. If you have any trapped air, the heating elements won't heat the tile properly, The tiles must be in contact with the cement/elements for the system to work correctly. This is important because of the issue I had with the coils not laying down during the installation. This was my first time installing radiant heating in a floor, it was quite easy actually, I took all the precautions not to damage the coil during installation...Only mistake I made was ordering the wrong thermostat, I chose the Honeywell Thermostat shown where Amazon indicates other "customers who bought this product, bought this" but it was a 240V and was made to work with ambient temperature instead of a floor sensor, which connects to the thermostat.. Anyway, I reordered it even though it was 3 times more the cost, but it worked out perfectly... Never will I assume that what others buy is the right product. We all learn by our mistakes.Super easy to install and its made in America. I called to ask how many amps it draws and I was on the phone with a friendly smart sales guy in a few seconds not a call center. Its 1.5 amps on full draw by the way. Great product and great company. Thanks for making it in AMERICA!Easy to use and run in whatever coverage you need. No problems after 5+ years of use so I used the same product in a second larger bathroom. Overall easy to setup with thermostat and temperature sensor. Great product at a good price.Had this installed for a while now and it works so well. I smile every time I walk into the warm tilesRight price works well. My contractor did have some issues making it lay flat after he poured the mortar on top before laying tile. Nevertheless, it has been working well with even temperature under my feet for the 3 weeks I have had it. I will update if there are issues.very easy to install and cut the mat to turn corners...or vary the layoutIt heats up, but it kinda takes its time.... I wanted it warm within 5 minutes... But it took like 10 before you felt anything... 20 minutes before I liked the way it feels
