I used the mastic glue suggested but the x pattern on the tiles didn't give sufficient bond probably because of the surface I'm working with. I couldn't insulate between the ceiling so I used 4 different layers of insulation with a gazillion staples, I ended using the sides and middle of tiles with the glue and afterwards caulking the lines and then painting the lines. Took 2 weeks along with the floor and transformed the room into something more comfortable temperature wise minus the ugly popcorn ceiling.. the shipping was literally next day...
