Antique Ceilings Inc - StyroDECOR The foam tiles can be installed straight from the box. Please follow the included instructions and make sure to use recommended adhesives. The Foam tiles can be glued to most surface. Weather you have a sheet-rock, painted drywall, plywood, 12"x12" acoustical tiles, textured surface, or gypsum. The foam tiles will glue directly to that surface with very minimal prior preparation. The white tiles can be painted with most any water-based paints. As in this photo, the white tiles have been faux painted to give them a "Copper" like finish.

Take the time to paint first, find the center and figure out how and where you will end up on a grid. This Florida room is 50×14 . I used the mastic glue suggested but the x pattern on the tiles didn't give sufficient bond probably because of the surface I'm working with. I couldn't insulate between the ceiling so I used 4 different layers of insulation with a gazillion staples, I ended using the sides and middle of tiles with the glue and afterwards caulking the lines and then painting the lines. Took 2 weeks along with the floor and transformed the room into something more comfortable temperature wise minus the ugly popcorn ceiling.. the shipping was literally next day...
