The Foam tiles can be glued to most surface. Weather you have a sheet-rock, painted drywall, plywood, 12"x12" acoustical tiles, textured surface, or gypsum. The foam tiles will glue directly to that surface with very minimal prior preparation. The white tiles can be painted with most any water-based paints. As in this photo, the white tiles have been faux painted to give them a "Copper" like finish.
